we saw aj ross in asbury park earlier. 3 miles in islip. visibility fine in the hudson valley. down to 49 in point pleasant. kind of a cool clammy feel rather than the mild feel we had earlier in the day. still low 50s in the hudson valley. fog tomorrow morning. clouds certainly dom inate. could be some thin spots. light winds. that will get us in to the upper 60s. many places come up short of the 70-degree mark. looking at the satellite, you don't see very much but look how the fog has spread through northeast new jersey, new york city and now the connecticut coast and westchester as well. we'll have to watch out with that fog because of all the light winds coming off the ocean and moistening things up. that's also allowing moisture northward. wouldn't be shocked to even see a little spotty mist it would be isolated but that could be around tomorrow morning. after that we'll watch this front. that's our friday front. out ahead of it, nice warm winds. that will break up the clouds friday and bump those temperatures up. the cold front will come through friday night. showing the

eyewitness news reporter aj ross with her exclusive interview. the jersey shore in asbury park. >> that shootout between police and that suspect happened just feet away from where i'm standing at this intersection. as you mentioned, one of the bullets in that exchange grazed an innocent 8-year-old little girl. we did speak with her mother a short time ago. she's speaking out and now she's worried if her family can recover from this. >> it happened so quick. between her screaming and the pop. >> reporter: a stray bullet narrowly missed 8-year-old cassie jones and her 6-year-old sister as they were watching a movie in their mother's bedroom wednesday night. >> cassie screams, oh, my god. ow. i've been shot. >> reporter: the girl's mother says adrenaline immediately took over when she heard the gunfire followed by the daughter's screams. it wasn't until she dragged them in to a nearby bathroom that she discovered cassie had been grazed across her forehead just below the hairline leaving a bloody gash. >> i didn't know what was going on. i didn't kno

. >> aj ross on the scene for us. >> it's a tragic story, just 16 years old when her entire life ahead of her. police have been here off this apartment off east 171st for several hours, trying to piece together just how this deadly shooting occurred. at this hour they're still collecting evidence and interviewing several eyewitnesss who were inside the home with the victim. >> reporter: a desperate 911 call brought police to the first floor of east 171st and college avenue after 6:00 this evening. when detectives arrived they found a 16-year-old girl dead inside, shot in the face. police quickly secured the scene, limiting access to the building as they collected evidence and talked with witnesses. a young man was escorted from the building in handcuffs along with a woman who was placed in the back of a detective's car. investigators say there were several people inside the same apartment with the girl when the deadly shooting occurred. so far no gun has been recovered from the scene. we spoke with a neighbor who believes she may have seen the victim in passing and says she's now prayi
