akhil: sure. but, again, the question is, compared to what? and on some issues i actually would -- will take my chances with brett kavanaugh over other judges that could be possible nominees because i think brett kavanaugh has thought about the constitution more carefully than most other lower court judges. it's very impressive. their job discription day in and day out typically does not involve constitutional law. it's hard to actually study the constitution in great detail. i think he has done that. and on various issues, i actually think, because the constitution is not an invariably conservative document, it often stands for very important liberal principles. if you study the document and you are a constitutional expert, you are prepared to think about the document, i think, actually, as a liberal, we will do better with him than with others who have not thought as deeply about the constitution. i like what he has written also off the bench about the constitution, where he talked about the importance of the reconstruction amendments. that
