last week, i visited al moore, minnesota, a small town -- [cheering] yay almore.he small town where chris mondale was raised. live in elmore. in queens, there are 2000 people on one block. [laughter] you would think we would be different, but we are not. children walk to school in elmore past grain elevators. in queens, they passed by subway stops. live, theirere they future depends on education, and their parents are willing to do those schoolsmake as good as they can be. [applause] [cheering] in elmore, there are family farms. in queens, small businesses. but the men and women who run them all take pride in supporting their families through hard work and initiative. on the fourth of july in elmore, they hang flags out on main queens, they fly them over grand avenue. but all of us love our country and stand ready to defend the freedoms that it represents. [applause] americans want to live by the same set of rules. but under this administration, against tooe raised many of our people. year not right that every the sheriff's taxes paid by individual citizens tax is

. >> sure, reverend al, i was listening to the really great interview with my sister, congresswoman gwen moore and how, you know, we say we make a way out of no way. well, the silver lining in all of this, i think, in terms of having to do so much now virtually, is we're connecting with so many more people. so many people are really tuned in to what is taking place. really, i have felt the impact, the economic impacts of what the white house and this president has not done and also the health disaster that's taking place in terms of the pandemic. not to mention the progressive agenda that vice president biden and soon-to-be vice president kamala harris have put forward as democrats. and so we're going to organize, we're going to meebl obilize. we got to come out of this convention unified and understand this is the grassroots and people who are going to make a difference at this election and that we have to be vigilant as it relates to voter suppression. i think we're going to have a turnout like none other and i believe we're going to do this in honor and memory of congressman john lewis and
