a special meeting of the alameda city council meets tonight. they are looking at recommendations about water rescues. the suggestions came after firefighters and police watched from shore as a suicidal man drowned on memorial day. alameda has already reestablished its water rescue program that had been disbanded to save money. the city has bought another shallow water rescue boat to go with the one it bought in june. >>> it is 5:37. i took yesterday off to enjoy some great weather in the city, get out and kind of stretch a little bit and i never left my apartment.
