i just heard from the spokesperson from alameda spokesperson. he's on the way to the scene to give us more information. we're on marcella street which is the road that runs right in front of hillside elementary. you can see for a couple blocks it is still shut down. deputies have got this area shut down. the school is off to the right up on that mound there. you can see red lights of the school. it was around 8:45 last night well after the kids were off campus after school was out of session that someone called 911 because they heard multiple shots fired. when the alameda county sheriff's office arrived, they found a young man, an adult but young man, on campus suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. they took him to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. they are telling us that this is the first homicide of the year for them. it appears they have not made any arrests as of yet. if you want to look at our live chopper video you can get a sense of where the shooting took place. it does not appear to have taken place near the classrooms
