as you can see, the alameda county board of supervisors is meeting virtually. they're in closed session, but when they do return, the board could vote on a nonbinding resolution to earmark millions of dollars of future tax revenue to help the a's pay for parts, affordable housing and orth-site infrastructure at the howard terminal site. this would be nonbinding. the board would be saying it is their intent to do this. the a's want to move out of the coliseum which is old and deteriorating. but while oakland mayor libby shack is confident there will be a yes vote, she thinks inaction on this resolution or a no vote will indicate to major league baseball that there is not a path forward for the a's in oakland. the mayor says without the county's participation, the city cannot develop a craft a development agreement which would be the contract with the a's laying out the terms of the ballpark development. if the board does not act today, major league baseball and the a's will likely take that as supervisors' unwillingness to accommodate the ball team in oakland. t

the alameda county board of supervisors. talk about funding the new oakland a's ball park for so many hours. they actually had to pause and come back to it. but in the end, county supervisors voted to prove the funding. the county now joins the city of oakland in approving a non-binding resolution to use property taxes generated from the development around the stadium at howard terminal in the port of oakland. it's over 18 acres of public parks, affordable housing. plus so much more, including infrastructure to help grow that area all boosting jobs in the economy, the waterfront stadium that would seat 35,000 people privately is privately funded. now this vote last night isn't met with 100% enthusiasm. the president and other supervisors are worried about the outcome of a massive financial investment like this. the east oakland stadium alliance says they're disappointed in the board for giving in to pressures from oakland and the a's team and maybe is fans as well. though many were grateful that at least affordable housing w

the alameda county sheriff's office says it's taken down one of the biggest illegal pot operations in bay history. nbc's melissa colorado gives us a look. >> today was a win in the battle against the big business of black market marijuana in the bay area. >> they got so much cash they don't know what to do with it. >> reporter: in the last few days the alameda county sheriff's office say they have taken down an elaborate criminal enterprise involving 18 illegal grow sites in the east bay, including this warehouse in san leandro. forensic accountants were brought in to follow the money and track how this cash from the operation was allegedly laundered. authorities arrested seven people so far and more arrests could be on the way. >> we could continue on with this investigation, probably for several more months. the tentacles of this probably go throughout the country. >> reporter: the numbers speak for themselves. authorities said they found $10 million in cash, 12,000 pounds of finished product, with a street value of $42 million. final count? more than 37 tons of illegal marijuana. >
