this started in alameda and ended in san francisco. nbc's terry mcsweeney is in the city with the details. san francisco police officers in pursuit of one of the carjacking suspects near brannan street and the embarcadero this afternoon. moments later, a female suspect is escorted from a garage in handcuffs. this all started about 2:00 this afternoon with the mother and her two children driving on the 2800 block of central in alameda, when two people jumped out of a car and approached the woman, one of the individuals pointed a firearm at her and demanded her vehicle. she told her to get out of the vehicle, and she told her to get her kids out of the vehicle. the mother complied. alameda police say they were able to hone in on the stolen vehicle within 30 minutes. oakland police provided the helicopter, which followed the vehicle through oakland and then onto the bridge towards san francisco, where that city's police officers were waiting for the carjackers. the stolen vehicle ended up crashed into the telephone pole on brandon, near t
