alameda county fire department is celebrating black history month with its 12th annual chief. it is my belief event. firefighters stopped by anna yates elementary school in emeryville this afternoon. they spoke to students and parents about the legacy of african american firefighters in alameda county, and shared some of their experiences on the job. the goal is to inspire these kids to follow their dreams, whether they want to be a firefighter or not, knowing that you can do whatever you want in life. if you want to be a fire chief, if you want to be a doctor, if you want to be a principal, if you want to be the president of the united states, it's all about believing in yourself. program that shows that it doesn't matter what skin color or like what genderou are, yet you can still make accomplishments. the kids told us they learned how tough it is to be a firefighter and how important their work is. some of the students also said today's talk helped them realize how they, too, can reach their goals. superheroes. they took a break from fighting crime today to go on a special
