so what we learned, right, what was learned in alameda county is both the kind of resources that we had that were in the system and then the size of the inventory were not right size to the homeless population's needs or to the scale of homelessness in that community, and that the imbalance led to really high lengths of homelessness and returns to homelessness, both of which impact black, multiracial, and native american households. from there, you know, we really -- we realized a number of gaps in our system, and that led us to reimagine the system. so the shelter inventory exceeded the permanent housing inventory, and so people were not exiting from shelter. shelter was not working the way it was is designed to do. there really weren't permanent options for people with housing disabilities, it was unlikely they were going to be able to increase their income to pay rent within six to 12 months. that was the situation there at that point in time. households with earned income, we were seeing -- needed something to bridge the difference between their income and rent. and then, the propor

this really is a concern for the valleys of contra costa county and alameda county.ight now it is good and should get better to the day. if we take a look at where the marine layer is, clouds in the immediate bay. everybody gets sunshine with hayes even though the air- quality will be good down here at the gr a lot of mid and upper layers smoke we will see. we are getting some light rain. it is classic for august. daytime highs are classic for early august. some upper 80s and low 90s for the south bay with 84 for san jose. palo alto, ed. it will be right around 90 for most of the communities for the inland valleys over the east bay. 91, pleasant hill. temperatures along the bay line will be low 70s. santa rosa, 85. 79 from much of those valleys through sonoma county. temperatures will warm-up into the mid-90s today in mendocino. we will pretty much told this line all the way through the remainder of the seven days. looking at our microclimates, we will be back into the mid- 90s. we will keep it more like mid- 80s for the valleys up in the northbay through sonoma coun
