first the painted ladies of alamo square, now lombard street.cals are pushing for restrictions on their world- famous street. if you have driven down the crooked part of lombard street, you know it's usually a very long wait to do so. well, imagine for the people who live there, it can be longer and more frustrating. some say it can take them an hour and a half to get through the traffic near their home. today, san francisco's municipal transportation agency will vote on an experimental program to close the crooked part of lombard street on weekends between june 21st and july 13th and on the 4th of july. only people living there would be able to get through with the car. now, this is similar to the complaints living near alamo square, near the row of homes knownance the painted ladies. after years of arguments, the transportation board voted to exclude commercial buses with ten or more seats from that area. that started this year but tour buses have been spotted breaking the rules as they tried to make their customers happy. now, people who work
