i'm alan wang. a major earthquake in turkey, and rescue operations continue tonight after the country's most powerful earthquake in more than a deck okay. at least 138 people are dead. the 7.2 magnitude quake shook the eastern part of the country. seven aftershocks have been felt, one measuring 6.0. here's the latest. >> reporter: here's the full force of the earthquake's violence. wrecking this room. rocking the walls. toppling furniture. outside, as the quake shook buildings, tens of thousands of panicked residents fled into the streets. dozens of buildings were knocked down into piles of rubble. no one knows yet how many are trapped in the ruins. still reeling from the shock. residents began frantic rescue efforts. some used bare hands to reach survivors. eye witnesses said screams for help were coming from beneath the piles of wreckage. this woman was rescued, the pain on her face, ang -- there was a lot of shaking, said this man. i have relatives here. i pray to god they will couple -- come out
