we're looking at the area of low pressure and cold air from the gulf of alaska that is continuing to drop to the south. our best chance of valley snow as we head to friday and saturday at this point. by thursday, we're going to be watching those lowering snow levels across the bay area. some of the highlights with this next blast of cold air, looks like temperatures will be in the 40s for daytime highs. by friday, rain and snow dropping down to the sea level as we head to friday night and saturday. the best chance of getting a little bit of rain-snow mix looks to be early saturday morning and the last snow was way back in 1976. this was an event that's happened about ten times since recordkeeping began. in terms of overall totals, we're going to have to wait until we get closer to this event. it's based upon how much cold air is available saturday morning. starting off cold in the east bay with conditions in the 30s. rebounding into the 50s. we'll start off cold in the south bay with 36 in los gatos. 38 in gilroy. 35 in livermore and plenty of low to mid-30s. we hear you. we've got y

this is dropping out of the gulf of alaska and open the door to several rounds of rains. we could see light rain early on and through the early evening hours we expect the heaviest when the front rolls through, and so could some of the strongest winds. giving you a look at the forecast, and through the morning hours, we could see light sprinkles, but as early as 10:00, approaching the north bay, and looks like it might stall a little bit. you see here 4:00 in the afternoon, and still hanging over the north bay. and see anywhere from a 1/2 inch to 1 inch and catching us along the san francisco line through oakland between 6:00 and 8:00 so the evening drive could be pretty, pretty tough and then into san jose by 8:00 and 10:00 and doesn't let up. we continue @ scattered showers through the overnight hours. for tonight we will leave in the possibly of scattered showers though some of us are dry at the moment. our temperatures in the 40s and approaching 50. but it's going to be soggy, breezy at times and you'll need your jacket getting up tomorrow morning, and overall highs f
