let's cross over to monica alba in west palm beach, florida with more on that. what do you think, monica, the reaction has been so far from those mcconnell comments from trump world? >> reporter: it's really exemplifying here the divide and the fissures within the republican party. you have a figure like donald trump who has said explicitly he is happy to support the people who supported him. this is somebody for whom loyalty is the most key thing in terms of making a decision, and so somebody like senator lindsey graham who has been a close ally, who did speak out against what happened on january 6th, and in particular, the former president's behavior, but who obviously voted to acquit him. you know that he really is going to want to have someone like the former president campaigning for him, helping him, supporting him. that's why you had lindsey graham speaking this morning on the sunday shows about why mitch mcconnell's speech could be problematic for some republicans in the 2022 midterms, but why he still thinks donald trump will obviously be a key player.
