that region pretty active front coming in, right there on the border of the adriatic sea, we have albania, italy, that's where the ferry was when we had the wave heights as much as 3 meters over 10 feet high and winds in the 25 to 30-mile-per-hour range. the air temperatures were down around 39 fahrenheit so around 4 celsius. this is not the type of weather you want to be on the deck of a ferry, let alone how windy and wet it is even if there was no fire this would be a very rough sea to be aboard this ferry, traversing through this region. as we head into tuesday, the weather goes downhill again. these are the water temperatures in the region. the green indicating water temperatures somewhere 55 to 59 fahrenheit. at those water temperatures you have one to two hours at best when it comes to survival if were you to be inside that water. monday looks like the best day for any search and rescue to take place. >> there is a lot going on. the weather is playing a very big factor in places around the world right now. >>> planes and ships from countries are searching for that missing airliner.

that will make it difficult for rescuers from italy and albania, who are still working to secure then ferry. earlier in the day, two albanianseamen were killed when a cable they detached snapped back and hit them. they are the first people confirmed dead in the rescue operation. it gives you an idea of just how dangerous conditions are out there in the adriatic, and how many things they have to do. they have to secure the ship until it back to port. we expect it to be towed back to italy when they get back. they have to inspect it. they will want to go down to the hull to look at every single area. particularly, they are worried that's where a number of migrants stowed themselves. it was suggested it might be more migrants, because some migrants from afghanistan and syria were already found among those rescued. prosecutors will not know how many people were killed on the ferry until the ship is returned to port. >> james reynolds there. navy and coast guard officials have taken control of a moldovan cargo ship believed to carry hundreds of syrian migrants. they boarded the ship after
