i played for albany high in 1972. and by that point our team was probably 65, 60% white, the rest black. but it was not discussed that just a few years earlier that that was an all-white football team, and the color barrier had been broken in terms of that particular school. um, it wasn't discussed by the players that i played there, and the interviews i think in this book would help the reader understand that many of the white players and many of the black players who got to that football camp -- and it was a hell of a camp -- by the mid, early '70s just wanted to be a part of that team, and race didn't matter. >> what -- you write about how brutal the camp was. how much do you think the social challenges played into the physical challenges that they had to go through at camp? >> the social challenges if for blacks? >> yeah. >> oh, well, there's no question about it. grady caldwell, matter of fact, on january 27th -- tomorrow night -- grady will be in town speaking at the civil rights institute as one of the first bl

they are in office building watching it go across a shopping center in albany in new zealand the countryargest city. look at the degree field kicked up here. estimated winds about 120 miles per hour. that would make that an ef2 and this one tore through a shopping center and definitely tossed over some cars as if they were toys. unfortunately there were two fatalities. this is not the first tornado they have this year and the area is actually fairly prone to getting some tornadoes. but needless to say when it is rolling through a urban area especially in the office park, that's definitely impressive. i know we have seen impressive tornado video of our own. they are counting up the bodies in the deep south over 300 fatalities and hundreds still missing down there so unfortunately that tally alabama mississippi is going to continue to rise. yesterday, we were allowed to rise without 74 degrees on target with the two degree guaranteed high. 80s in richmond and norfolk and roanoke and charleston. that's the the warm airheading through today with a push from the south. although we are hang
