alcatraz alcatraz city tours tonight resumed tours for the first time since the start of the pandemiche night tours include special programs and activities that aren't available during the day. plus it's nighttime that just makes it all the more scary people we've talked to on this first night of resumed operations, said the tour offers a different perspective of the island after dark. the city's beautiful just really gorgeous to look out at everything is a little creepy and spooky. it was really enjoyable. we saw a few different things that we hadn't seen before. and then when it got dark, it made it even more eerie. if you've never done it, it's probably the best tour in san francisco. the tourists run thursdays through monday's. with the ferries leaving from pier 33 in san francisco at six p.m. well after several weeks of school back in session, where hearing of more covid-19 cases among schoolchildren and districts are trying to sort out how to keep everyone safe. katie was, azenith smith tells us educators in san jose tonight are demanding that stricter measures be put in place.

get real pretty showing of the fog coming in over the golden gate bridge and just hovering over alcatraz everybody else has sunshine. if you hide clouds will show up for northernmost california. there are really no significant big picture issues in our weather. no major heat waves. lippi was doubling the possibility for scattered thunderstorms like what we saw last week. instead, we watched the smoke. over the next 24 hours it is good. see the big picture drawing most of the smoke away from us but as we get towards monday night, there is a southerly return. it may try to bring a little bit more of smoke. close inspection of the high- resolution forecast showing role of the smoke, since we might see a little more today. we already know the forecast is a good one. daytime highs today going to the mid-80s for the south bay. we will be in the low 90s the inland valley to the east bay. if you are wondering, these numbers are exactly what they were yesterday. how saturday is the same way something is going to feel. that is a looking weekend. seven-day forecast, four san francisco, oakland and

you see the panhandle looking out towards alcatraz and marine layer come on in that view stage left. some places got quite the warmup today. six degrees warmer for the inland valleys of the east bay. noticeable, but not terrible. got into the low 90s today for daytime highs. it was nine degrees warmer up to santa rosa. eight degrees warmer in fairfield and six degrees warmer in concord. some of the inland valleys do feel it today and that's where we'll put a cap on this. tomorrow is going to be like today. we did the big jump. temperatures aren't going to budge a whole lot. san jose made it to 82 tomorrow. it's similar to what you are going to do for the daytime high on sunday and concord will be in the low 90s in the morning. current number in san jose is 75 and it's in the mid-60s for locations on the water. back to the mid- and upper 50s tonight for morning lows. just to give you the specific forecast for your part of the bay area, we'll start out in the south bay. it will be 81 in millpedes. inland valleys of the east bay going into the low 90s. 91 for pleasant hill and san ramon

bridge, but the fog comes spilling in over the headlines, hits and then splash splash splash up and alcatraz will splash it up as well. so you get this sort of undulation in the in the in the fog bank, which is stunning. and you go. okay well, why isn't the fog? why is it so stable because it's cold there, right? so this is a great example of cold air sinks to the lowest point, right, so it's if there's warm air above it. it doesn't doesn't matter because it's warm in this cold air just stays down below it now, if there was warm air underneath it, then you'd be in a whole different deal. right? you had warmer underneath that fog, it would rise into that cooler air. so little thermodynamics way boy that picture. it's funny because back in the day like i said, we used to study that stuff before the internet before fast forward cameras were really a thing and just to be able to see it flowing like that, in real time is really stunning. okay so 97 right now in fairfield or not right now, today in fairfield, 93, d and tax always. cooler in most places, but some areas just a couple degrees cooler.
