joining us to discuss, alex barinka in new york.you think these other companies are perceiving this market? >> one thing is for sure. for ipo, you have got to get the evaluation right. that is the biggest takeaway from the snap move. if you do not give investors any forward-looking benchmarks to work off of, that could resent an issue -- present an issue. when snap listed in march, the company did not give overlooking guidance. backwardhave the numbers to work off of and create their own models. after the first earnings report, you saw the stock fall off. it has not recovered and has gone down since then. a lot of this is lack of conviction in the fact that snap has something to show investors. this is always going to be a prove it/xiaomi story because their management did not give a lot of information as to what incremental changes look like and how they will better show advertisers return on their investment. you have seen the evaluation come down quite a bit. in october when we first reported on the size of the company, they were

we are joined now by our bloomberg ipo reporter alex barinka.d the pressure on the stock? >> people are not buying into this story. when snape went out on march 1 and sold it shares, it promised growth. it promised innovative products within its disappearing photo app, but it did not tell investors exactly what it intended to roll out. you have seen incremental moves from them. they bought a company last month to add mapping skills. they minted deals with time warner, who is spending $100 million on ads and for video production on snap over the next two years, but investors have not been convinced. the thing i continue to go back to is this constant fight between what snap has to offer and what the likes of facebook and instagram have to offer. when you look at the numbers, in and, instagram came out said their stories product, which is similar to snapchat stories hastagram 250 million daily active users. snapchat as a whole has just 166 million daily active users. when you think about where the growth is coming from, if the incremental changes

we spoke with alex barinka after the company wrapped up its trading day about their challenges ahead. it was actually unchanged. it closed at $10 a share. that was below the ipo price. it seems like there is a bit more investor concern baked in. the initial valuation they went out at, a 3.2 billion dollar market value, that was the high and when they launched the ipo. that did not come to fruition. they are looking at a $1.9 billion market valuation. and looking atck this company if i am an investor, and say where is the growth? how are you going to afford? when i look at this cash position, it seems like they actually might need some money soon. some that could be playing into this downward or flat pressure. should investors be concerned about it because of amazon and whole foods? or because of all these other things? david: if i were any food related delivery service, i would be watching amazon with incredible care. the fact that they bought whole foods, which surprised most of us, just goes to show the that they view food as part of their conquer the world strategy. i do think so.
