alex marquardt has more. >> reporter: good morning. dr. harold borenstein is telling us now that he was not the creative force behind the letter in 2015 that claimed that then-candidate donald trump was in truly excellent health. we caught up with dr. bornstein outside of his office on park avenue in which he told us he, quote, donald trump, dictated the whole letter, i didn't write the letter. over the course of the conversation, he told us that trump had told him what to put in that letter, the phrasing, the wording, bornstein admitted that he used some creative license. he attributed some of the language to what he called his dark humor, comparing it to the movie "fargo," saying it takes the truth and moves it in a different direction. now bornstein tells us that he got a call from donald trump as he was crossing central park, not too far away, with his wife in a car. and trump dictate to him what he should put in the letter. bornstein said he responded by saying what could be included, what could not be included. bornstein arrived at t

joining me is alex marquardt, in philadelphia, where that arrest took place. mood like there today, alex? >> reporter: this is the store in philadelphia where that arrest took place last month. it has been a very busy morning. people going in and out, getting their coffee. speaking to a number of customers, no one saying, no one complaining that they're not going to be able to get their coffee this afternoon, saying it will go elsewhere and a number of people saying this is a good thing. one person said philadelphia is a diverse city. this is a conversation that needs to be had. but as you mentioned, this is a very dramatic step for this company. howard schultz, the chairman, telling cnn they're spending tens of millions of dollars on this anti-bias training. it is going to take place over the course of the afternoon. this one is due to shut down in an hour's time. training will take four hours. all 8,000 company owned stores across the country will shut down. and the training will involve some 175,000 store employees. the way it is going to happen is essential

cnn's alex marquardt is live in philadelphia with more. reporter: good morning, alisyn. that incident taking place at this starbucks on camera. that video going viral causing outrage all across the country and really all around the world. and the company realized very quickly that they had a pr disaster on their hands, but at the same time, they realize this really could be a teachable moment and they announced that today, may 29th, they would be carrying out mandatory anti-bias training for their 175,000 employees. as you mentioned, they are closing down their 8,000 stores across the country this afternoon. and essentially it's going to go like this -- this is a four-hour training. the employees in these stores will break up into small groups and essentially the training will be broken down into three parts. the company sending around what they're calling tool kits. the tool kits will guide the training. the first part is a video that features the founder and chairman howard schultz, the ceo kevin johnson and the rapper common. the employ

but we tern to alex marquardt, the governor says there were no warning signs be no criminal records, no -- but there were red flags in social media. >> what the governor says at least in terms of official worked, criminal background, he -- the attacker had what the governor called a clean slate. but for anyone who is paying close attention to the attacker social media profiles in particular his facebook page there were some fatherly clear red flags. let me run threw those. the first was posted on april 30th. that was just under three weeks ago. and the attacker posted a picture of a black t-shirt that had born to kill written on the fibrin. now that same day he also posted a picture of a long black coat. we know from the lieutenant governor today that the attacker carried out the attack wearing a long black coat and hid a shotgun under it. now, in this facebook post, the attacker drew attention to a number of opinions that were on the coat including a nazi iron cross which he said in the caption represented bravery and then on the collar there was a communist red star with a hammer a

our correspondent alex marquardt is in new york. i understand you just spoke with dr. did he tell you? >> reporter: we spoke with dr. bornstein outside of his park office here a couple of hours ago. he told us in no uncertain terms that he was robbed. i asked him point blank, was a crime committed and he said, they stole them. referring to president trump's medical records. the they are two men, first is keith schiller, the long time bodyguard and the second is someone by the name of allen garden, an attorney for the trump organization. now dr. bornstein is telling us that normally in these situations, when medical records are handed over that a release would be signed, known as a hippa release. he told us that had not been signed. instead, he said, they barged through the back door, terrified the secretary, pushed aside the patient who was in there. so very dramatic account from dr. bornstein which the white house disputes. they do not dispute the fact that they came here to take control of the president's medical records. but they do dispute the fact this was a raid.

cnn's alex marquardt has been monitoring all the developments and joins me live now. a little more information coming out. >> witness statements who say that shots were indeed fired at highland high school in palm dale, california. we have been told by the l.a. sheriffs department as well as the l.a. county fire department that they are responding to reports of a man with a gun, and the fire department is saying they are responding to shots fired. what we know from people on the ground this is coming from an eyewitness, a 17-year-old student of highland high school, on his way to class, we understand that classes start at this school at 7:30 in the morning. first calls coming in at around 7:05 in the morning, saying he was walking to school and he heard gunshots, so he turned around and went home. he thinks, according to holman, that this is still an active shooter situation, because he has friends still hiding in the library. we should note that we spoke to another witness who says that there is notably bad cell phone reception in this school, so it is hard to really

we do know from our correspondent, alex marquardt, in new york and his producer, they ran into dr. harold bornstein up in new york city earlier today. one comment that the doctor said to cnn, he said how would you feel if you cared for someone for 35 years and they came and robbed your office? that from dr. harold bornstein to cnn, so obviously he feels very hurt by the fact that the president's then bodyguard and body man, keith schiller, and another attorney came by dr. bornstein's office as we've been reporting and others have been reporting in february of 2017. that story first reported by nbc. but here's what sarah sanders said during the briefing when she was asked whether any of this was appropriate. here's what she had to say. >> as is standard operating procedure for a new president, the white house medical unit took possession of the president's medical records. >> it was characterized as a ray. is that your understanding of what happened? the doctor seemed to be pretty upset about it. >> no, that is not my understanding. >> reporter: but of course, wolf, dr. bornstein di
