ktvu's alex savidge joins us live from san jose with more on how the teen got on the plane and the concerns that are now raised. good afternoon alex. >> reporter: good afternoon. one bay area congressman is calling for a federal review after this security breach. the fbi believes this 16-year- old boy simply hopped a perimeter fence here at the airport and stowed away in the wheel well of that hawaiian airlines airplane. this all happened yesterday, and apparently there is security video that shows the boy sneaking on to the tarmac that has not been released yet. this is a photo of that teenager released by maui news. he was treated by paramedics after being discovered at the airport in hawaii yesterday. incredibly he was not hurt during that five-hour flight across the pacific ocean. while there's a sense of relief this boy managed to survive, many are questioning how he could have made it on to that flight undetected. san jose international airport is surrounded by an 8-foot high fence with barbed wire at the top. they called for a review of perimeter security. >> what concerns me is if s

alex savidge is joining us live now at one of the most dangerous areas in the city. >> reporter: goodng, to you. you can expect to see a lot of san francisco police officers and highway patrol officers along this stretch of vanness later this morning. they will be doing a traffic enforcement operation on the lookout for red light runners and speeders. the idea here is to try to make the street safer for those on thought. it was earlier this month when a man was hit and killed by a car near this intersection where we are. golden gate and vanness. so far this year the total stands at seven people who have been killed trying to cross streets in the city. four of the victims were struck along vanness. officers will be focusing on vanness between market and geary. and they will also be giving out warnings in an effort to correct bad driving behavior. this is part of the city's vision zero plan. people we talked to who live nearby are hoping this operation will make a difference. do you fear for your well being as you cross the street? >> i do sometimes yeah. crazy drivers. they are running
