. >>> let's get the national weather forecast from the weather channel's alex wallace. alex, good morning. we are feeling a little bit better here. sounds like things are looking up, at least on the east coast. >> yeah. the east coast, skies will shape up decently over the next couple of days. not bad at all. but the middle of the country, not so great. in fact, already this morning we've got storms we're tracking across wisconsin, pressing into lower michigan. with it, heavy downpours and quite a bit of lightning associated with this activity and more showers and storms up across northern sections of minnesota. that's an area we'll be focusing on as we move throughout the day. storms will refire here, including in des moines, damaging winds and hail will be some of the main risks, but can't completely rule out a an isolated tornado. 80s from st. louis to chicago. chicago, your average high for this day, 65 degrees. so almost 20 degrees above average. and we'll keep that warmth going on into tomorrow, as well. wheel we're warming up in the middle of the country, check ou
