what was so shocking and what we're looking at right now, rodeo drive stores from cartier to alexander mcqueen to rite-aid. let's just be honest. it's not specifically the luxury names, but to see one of the world's sort of most famous renowned shopping areas attacked in pretty much broad daylight, shocked a lot of people outside of beverly hills. what was going through the council's mind? i know you guys had an emergency meeting today. >> we had an emergency meeting before and to be quite honest, i'd say we weren't well enough prepared. this is something that shouldn't have happened. you know, we obviously want to distinguish between legitimate peaceful protesters who are making a point and i think that the beverly hills council, but the whole community, stands in solidarity with the african-american community because of what happened to george floyd and their unique history of suffering, and i think there's no doubt about that, but the problem is you've got a few people who seem to almost strategically be able to take advantage of peaceful protests in order to commit crimes such as looting.
