police have confirmed that they were -- that officers were transferring an inmate from alexandra jaila fairfax hospital when that inmate apparently overpowered a police deputy and escaped. now, this suspect is considered armed and dangerous. in fact, police say he has a gun and is wearing a hospital gown. you're looking at the scene right now. heavily armed police are on that scene searching parking garages in the area of the children's center and women's center in that hospital. every major entrance to the hospital campus is currently closed off. police are also reportedly searching neighborhoods next to the hospital. again, a prisoner has escaped during an attempt to transfer him from jail to a hospital. he is considered armed and dangerous. apparently he has a gun and is wearing a hospital gown. we don't know why this transfer was occurring but obviously as you saw authorities are scouring that area hoping to get the situation under control. they want to create a safety situation for the patients and the staff at the hospital as well as the residents around that area. that hospital
