alexandra limon is life in then the northeast with more. >>reporter: we don't have good news for commuters tonight. to both amtrak and mark brunswickrs service will be disuh-uhedisuh tomorrow as a result of this th freight train derailment. take a look, the trains off the tracks behind me. beh you can also see crews working to try to get those cars flippea up right and moved out of thehe way. 14 of the 175 railcars from the csx freight train derailed early this morning. no evacuations or injuries were reported and now the federal railroad administration is investigating why the train carrying hazardous materials derailed. one of the cars was leaking sodium hydroxide liquid whichhih was flammable and hazardous. that leak was plugged. a second car was leaking ethanol. that leak was contained and csx says a third train was leaking non hazardous and that leak was plugged shortly after the derailment happened this morning. the hazmat cleanup of the sodium hydroxide continues tonight. itself it's a 15,500-gallon tanker. we believe that about half

. >> "fox5" alexandra limone are causeing a lot of conversey. >> parents of the students that were suspended say that what not sexually abuse. we reached out to the dull pepper county sheriff's office and they tell us there are no criminal charges filed against anyone. they also say a criminal case was never even on and still those students were suspended for 364 days and that's why these parents aout here protesting now they say the punishment does not fit the crime and 12 baseball and football players at culpeper country high school who are fresh men, sophomores and juniors were suspended for an entire year. parents say there were several different incidents that happened in the locker room and they described them as rough housing. however, they say the school district told them it was sexual assault. and that is why the students were suspended. and the school district did not make any sort of comment to "fox5" for our story. other than the disagreement over exactly parents are upset that all the incidents are being lumped together and all the students are receiving the same punishment. so

alexandra limon is life in i northeast where we just got an update from officials a short s time ago. alex? >>reporter: guys, at this time we still don't know why that csx freight train retrailed. i can tell you right now that d.c. heavy equipment is out her working on egypt. egy the train was carrying flammable and hazardous material and it essentially derailed where the rhode island metro station shutting that station down and at this time it remains closed. now, the csx train was one of the cars was carrying a substance called sodium hydroxide, which is hazardous,o, the leak is plugged,. we're told that a second car is still slowly leaking ethanol, but the fire department says that leak is contained and they're working on plugging that week. csx says a third train car was leaking calcium chloride which is a toxic substance. s that leak was plugged shortly of after the derailment happened. the sodium hydrochloride, it's a 15,500-gallon tanker. we believe that about half oflf that had leaked into the rail ra bed and into the gravel and ground underneath it and they'r currently assess

reporting in northwest dc, alexandra limon, fox 5 local news. >> and we're learning about another violent incident on metro. police tell us a man was stabbed around 12:30 this morning at the gallery place station. someone attacked this man while he was standing on the platform. that man was then taken to a hospital for treatment. he is expected to survive. tonight police are still looking for the person responsible. >> a dc man is in police custody tonight charged with killing his daughter's boyfriend. investigators say the shooting happened this morning on 21st street northeast. neighbors tell us the 67-year-old wilbur whitaker called police this morning to get his daughter's boyfriend out of the house after a fight broke out. residents say they told leo hackett to leave but when he showed up again later in the morning, whitaker allegedly shot and killed him. residents tired of the crime in their neighborhood had planned a safety walk this evening just blocks from where today's murder took place. when word of the killing became known, the walk was moved to 21st street. anc commissioners

fox5's alexandra limon was life on the scene for the dramatic take down.>reporter: montgomery county police department did an incredible job taking down this suspect and arresting h him a without anrry additional shots fired. we were standing here when it happened. police were already here in the parking lot of the diner where a second shooting had happenedned today. we were standing right up here on these stairs when all of a sudden we saw police officers rushing in this direction withh their weapons drawn telling us to get down and out of"t way. they continued into this parking lot. that is where they arrested a 62 year old eulalio tordil and now we know that members montgomery county plane clothes tactical undercover policpleice officers had spotted that suspect in a dunkin' donuts here in this shopping center along aspen hill road.d. they had been keeping an eye on him for quite sometime and this surveillance video shows you what happens after when that suspect got up, headed to his car. you can see those members of the tactical team storm in. one of
