. >> let's go back to our meteorologist alexandra steele who joins us now with more on that.u know, it's the third super typhoon of 2014 in the western pacific. so a very active year. now, halong was a super typhoon. it is now a typhoon. it is down. but winds still 165-kilometer-per-hour sustained now. a minute sustained in the open water. also the wind gusts at 205. it is moving north-northeast and making a beeline for southern japan. but it's had quite a history. you see its westerly trajectory and then its north-northeast trajectory. again, now a typhoon. it is strengthening, though. but the biggest really fear with this will be when it makes landfall, its winds up to about 150 kilometers per hour. but flooding will be the biggest factor with this. and believe it or not, intensity, whether it's a super typhoon, a typhoon or a tropical storm, the intensity doesn't really -- isn't as big a factor as forward speed. forward momentum. so the problem with this thing, the slower it goes, the more flooding we'll see. and it will be exacerbated by the flooding we've already seen fr

. >> yeah, let's bring in meteorologist alexandra steele with more on this. alexandra, what does it look like? >> yeah, this typhoon is the third super typhoon of this year along in the western pacific. so they've seen an awful lot. it's no longer a super typhoon. it's now a tie fan, but it is restrengthening again. can you see it here quite clearly. maximum sustained winds at 165. gusts to 205. but the problem with this is not only what this will do but what the history has done. here's the history of halong. it moved west and now north really with a beeline towards southern japan. but before this typhoon gets there, we had a tropical storm that brought an awful lot of rain. so here's the landfall. the landfall with this one is saturday. the winds will be about 120 to 150. but the biggest problem with this is the extreme flooding. the intensity of a hurricane or a typhoon doesn't lead to flooding. it's the forward speed, the slower it goes, the more we'll see. so here's a look at the time line. we can see it make its way for the weekend, of course. but it was

. >> yeah, let's get the latest now from meteorologist alexandra steele who joins us with more. dra. >> hi, you guys. it's really been double trouble for japan. all last week we were talking about tropical storm nacri which brought historic flooding, a foot of rain in seven hour as loan. and now hot on its heels, we've got a typhoon, typhoon hilong. look at the action here in the tropics. we'll get to iselle and julio headed for hawaii coming up. i want to show you the history. the breadth and depth of this thing, it was a super typhoon. now it's a typhoon, and you can see its long history. and it really has been pretty consistent. it's been powerful. it's been fueled by very warm waters. it hasn't seen a lot of wind shear. that means breaking up of the storm. you see where it is. fairly well organized. its winds now at a maximum sustained winds at 165 kilometers per hour. you see gusts in excess of 200. so certainly it has got a lot of power with it. and you can see it's headed for the same exact location that we saw with this tropical storm. and then it became a tropical depres

. >> alexandra steele has the latest on the weather warnings in effect for the warnings. >> hi, guys.is really a one, two punch for hawaii. here's the first one in line. we've got hurricane iselle and then julio behind it. you can see one and then comes julio hot on its heels. it is tracking west-northwest at 29. you can see that. 150-kilometer-per-hour winds. gusts now to 185. so it's continuing to move. i want to show you the path of julio right behind it. it is very similar, although julio looks as though it's going to look a little bit farther north. so of the two, the first one certainly looks as though it will have the biggest punch. so we do have, believe it or not, hurricane warnings for hilo and the big islands. hurricane warning means hurricane conditions are possible within the next 36 hours. here's the track of eye ziselle. late wednesday you'll begin to notice the swells on the east-facing beaches. then thursday night late night you'll feel the biggest impacts. flooding rain, big surge, the potential for nine-meter waves perhaps. that's what we're seeing right now in the
