heartbreaking news for the family of alexis gabe. 24 year old who was murdered three years ago in contra costa county. late today, the da's office announced it will not seek charges against the mother of her accused killer. alexis gabe's family is not happy about this decision. here's nbc's thom jensen. this was especially devastating news for alexis gabe's family because in three days on sunday, the three year statute of limitations is up on this case. and that means there is no chance for any criminal charges in the future. it was very disappointing. definitely. our attorney, dara, worked really hard on, on on her presentation and we had a substantial amount of evidence that she presented. gwen, gabe can't believe the contra costa county district attorney will not pursue criminal charges against the mother of his daughter's ex-boyfriend. he believed michelle curtis jones mom helped protect her son after he allegedly killed alexis in january 2022. to me, the evidence is there and this evidence comes from a combination of ring door,
