i spoke about all of that with doctor and public health expert imron ali. good morning dr. ali and thank you for joining us this morning. i want to talk about the cdc investigating a heart issue among some children who got vaccinated with pfizer or moderna. it's very rare. only 14 cases right now. but how concerning is this and should parents have any hesitation about getting their kids vaccinated? >> myocarditis happens from all kinds of viruses. we on average see 10 to 20 people out of every 100,000 people have some form of mild myocarditis. myocarditis is when there's inflammation of the heart, specifically of the thick muscle here, the left ventricle. that can affect the ability of the heart to pump blood efficiently. i do want to stress that the cdc is still investigating to find out if there is a link. so far, mona, there really isn't enough information to cause -- to say if there's a link between the vaccine and the myocarditis that we're seeing. >> dr. ali, the "wall street journal" is reporting that researchers in wuhan, china got sick and needed hospital care back

good morning. it is sunday, may 23rd. i'm ali velshi. any day an independent commission could investigate the january 6 insurrection and attack on u.s. capitol. if that vote takes place, it is expected to fail. since right now zero senate republicans stand in support of it. just 35 republicans in the house voted for the commission. which would be bipartisan. and based on the the famed 9/11 commission. the crux of the gop argument was summed up by marco rubio who said the commission is a partisan joke and quote, about damaging republicans. well finding out the truth about what happened on january 6 isn't actually partisan or shouldn't be. and the investigation isn't about damaging republicans, it is about finding facts and it just so happens to be a fact that the insurrection and the attack on the capitol was undertaken to extremists by the republican party and president. rubio said there is no cover-up. we already know what happened. but do we? because just days ago ron johnson publicly said that this is what happened. >> fact of the mat

good morning. it is saturday, may 29th. i'm ali velshi. right now a rush-based hacking group, the group responsible for last week's solarwinds attack, is now targeting major government agencies, think tanks and over organizations. it is believed to be run by russia's foreign intelligence service and they are ongoing and part of the intelligence gathering efforts. microsoft says the latest attack targeted 3,000 accounts and has been going on since january, right at the ends of the solarwinds attack. the news comes days after the white house announced that president biden will meet with russia's putin in geneva on june 16th. mark warner said in a statement we must make clear to russia and other adversaies they must face consequences for this and other cyberactivity. the republican party made it clear they're the party of insurrection. senate republicans yesterday blocked the bill to create a nonpartisan commission to investigate the january 6th insurrection, a bill that was negotiated in good faith by members of its own party. here they are.
