ktvu's ali rasmus is live there now in the midst of that big crowd with more on what kind of services they're looking for. good morning, ali. >> reporter: good morning. there are already a thousand people here at the oakland coliseum, all these people are waiting to receive some free medical vision and dental care. this area you're looking at now is the waiting area for dental services, about a hundred people here and the doors opened at 5:30 this morning. here you can see this has become a portable dental office. there are 80 dental chairs set up in this part of the oakland coliseum. people are being seen by volunteer dentists and hygenists. all the physicians and volunteers, medical professionals, are volunteers. and it's not just dental services that they're offering. with the 80 chairs there are more than 50 medical exam stations and 20 vision exam stations. this clinic is organized by an international non-profit group called remote area medical. they've done about 600 other clinics like this, all across the u.s. we spoke to the founder and ceo of the organization about the need f

ali rasmus is live now in berkeley with more on some of what is planned on this 14th annual earth day today. ali. >> reporter: claudine, we're in east shore part, next to the berkeley marina, and taking a look here it's beautiful this morning. once the fog clears up, you can tell it will be a gorgeous day. it's calm and pristine out here. but about a couple hours from now, we can expect to see close to 300 volunteers. people out here rolling their sleeves up, picking up dirt and debris and a lot of trash and restoring some of the native plants. now, some of the trash here is not visible where we're standing. you can barely see in the distance some plastic bottles tossed in the brush here but that's just some of the thins that these volunteers will be working on today. and you're one of the agencies involved in this effort. it's part of the california state parks foundation earth day celebration. so tell me with 300 volunteers, that's a lot of people to coordinate, how will it work? what will they look for today. >> well, we've got registration starting at 8:30, the clean-up from 9 to

ali rasmus joins us from one nightclub where two people died in gunfire. ali. >> reporter: tori, it happened just before 1:00 this morning outside this sweet jimmie's bar and restaurant on broadway between third 3 fourth streets. a little earlier this morning, some of the victims' family members have been here, two young men died in the shooting and the victims' family members were here this morning consoling each other and dealing with their loss. a short time ago, we watched as one of the victims' cars was towed away. six people were shot, two men and two women were injured, and the two men who were killed. police say around 1 this morning, a car full of people pulled up to the bar and one of men in the car tried to get into the bar and was denied access. witnesses say that's when the man pulled out a gun and started shooting. police say 10 to 15 people were inside the bar when it happened. police have not made any arrests and they are still looking for at least one black male shooting suspect along with the rest of the people who may have been in the car

ktvu allie rasmus tells us two of the shootings took place outside of popular nightclubs. good morning, ali. >> reporter: good morning, pam. homicide investigators are still inside one of those buildings. this building behind me is a bar. this is where one of the most violent overnight shootings happened. this is on fourth street and broadway just a block away from jack london square. two people were killed here. four others men and women were injured. two of them critically. i talked to the sergeant out here who explained what they think may have happened. just before 1:00 a man tried to enter but was not allowed in. he tried to push his way into the bar. when that didn't work he pulled out a gun and started shooting. between 10-15 people were inside the bar when this happened. and when i talked to the sergeant, he was just about to leave here and go to the police station to interview several of the witnesses. the sergeant says he doesn't know if this shooting was related to another shooting that happened around the same time early this morning. a man was found shot in the leg near kimable
