ali rasmus is live with how things are looking right now. good morning, ali. >> reporter: good morning, mike. the message is if you're flying on united airlines this morning or later today, be sure to give yourself plenty of time. you should plan to arrive two or even three hours before your scheduled domestic departure. we're at terminal 3, where united has its check in counter. beyond some of the cars you can see there's a lot of traffic out there, and there's a long line of passengers waiting to check in outside. and it's even busier inside. let's show you the video inside the terminal. even though last night's computer glitch has been resolved, passengers who are on the thousands of flights cancelled yesterday are trying to rebook and reschedule their travel plans this morning. that's created some long lines and delays for united passengers. there are separate lines for checking in and rebooking here in sfo, so be sure to ask a representity to make sure you're in the right place. we've seen a few people miss their flights because they spe

and ali rasmus is live on the scene with more on the investigation. police are still in the process of putting some of the pieces of information together out here. they're still investigating and they still have some pretty limited information for us. but it appears that investigators are in the process of interviewing what appears to be several potential witnesses. just in the last hour or so, we've watched police pull aside about a dozen or so people, men and women, and officers have been taking notes as they talk to that group of people presumably to do some sort of interview, talk to the people who may have seen or heard anything in the area. police first arrived on the 400 block of nerdy avenue after neighbors heard gunfire. when police arrived they found a man in his 20s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. hess pronounced dead at the scene. police have not released the victim's identity and don't know the motive for the shooting. they don't know if the shooting was gang-related. but we did talk to a neighbor who didn't want to be identified

ali rasmus joins us live with more on what passengers saw and the cell phone videos taken in the aftermath. ali. >> reporter: this emeryville amtrak station was supposed to be the final stop for the california stepper, the train involved in this craig. we've made several calls to amtrak and have not heard back. what is still unclear are the number of people killed in this crash. the nevada highway patrol says five people died, of them amtrak says one of the persons who died was an amtrak crewmember, a conductor. the driver of that semi-truck also died. but investigators say they have to comb through the wreckage of that train crash to figure out and confirm if there are more victims. >> get away from the smoke! >> this video captured the commotion minutes after a semi- truck plowed into the side of an amtrak train. 200 passengers were onboard. >> the train shook and rocked off -- and fire shot through the sides of the windows. >> the flames spread through at least two cars on the train. the crash happened at a railroad crossing, 70 miles east of reno in nevada. witnesses told investigators
