ali velshi is joining us with some of the details.ent -- what was the crux of the president's plan? how do you manage to start regulating this kind of abuse? >> that was the crux of it was largely that he wanted more funding to hire more people at the community -- commodities future trading commission, that's the body like the securities and exchange commission that deals with oil trading. he wanted a six-fold increase in staff that monitor oil trading, he wanted more technology, wanted them to be armed with better technology to deal with these oil traders who deal with very, very advanced technology, he wants to increase the fines for anybody found to be manipulating the price of oil. he wanted them to be increased ten-fold. and he wants, interesting thing he talks about, increasing the margin requirements so as i was telling keara, if you want to buy stock of general electric you have to put up the money. if you want to buy oil futures you don't. you put up a small portion of the money. so the feeling is if there is all of these peo

our own ali velshi was onboard. you're on the ground and you're at jfk.r viewers what happened. >> reporter: i was on my way to los angeles and we were delayed from a 3:00 departure. delta plane, the boeing 757. we took you hava. it was seconds into the takeoff and there was a loud grinding noise and the plane started shaking a little bit. more more of a shake than you would typically hear when reaccount troising the landing gear. the cabin started filling with smoke. it was unclear what was going on. the captain then came on a few minutes later and it appears that there had been a bird strike and he then turned back and it looked like we did a fly bye for the inspection and we were landing at jfk not much longer after we took off. there was one, and he's filming it and all of a sudden, we're in the air and these birds fly by on the ride side of the plane and seconds later, not seconds later, within a second this grinding noise starts. there are a whole bunch of people inspecting the plane. it is on the ground at jfk. it does appear that something struck

i'm ali velshi, welcome to "your $$$$$." i want to take you beyond the politics and show you the facts. these are the jobs lost and gained during obama's term. an economy in free fall. beginning with the president's first full month unoffice, february 2009, the economy lost 4.3 million jobs in the first 13 months of his presidency. employment sputtered for much of 2010. but beginning in october of that year america began to gain jobs, a painfully slow but steady job recovery has taken hold for the last 18 months. here is the key if you want to bring it back to politics. if the economy adds just over 100,000 jobs per month between now and the election, america will have gained back every single job lost during the obama presidency. mort zuckerman head of "u.s. news and world report." he's also an extremely wealthy and successful democratic businessman and he wrote this week president obama's economic programs have failed. mort, the economy is on pace, as you saw, to get back every job lost under president obama about a recess
