my friend ali velshi will join me now from phoenix. i'm glad to see you.t into the cool hat and jacket, but we will talk when you are back in the studio. what i will ask you about, my friend, your takeaways from this conversation. what stands out most? >> reporter: i love coming to arizona, because people have these conversations here. i had a group of people from across the political spectrum, three of whom i had spoken to before, but what really stood out was talking to the republicans on the panel about what they are feeling and the coming election. listen to what they told me. is it your view that you will remain a republican for the time to come? >> yes in arizona. it is difficult to be an independent. i think in my heart of hearts that is what i would rather be, but to make any difference on ballots, like they were saying. you want to go and vote for the better republican. candidate. and i think that is where it makes the most difference in arizona, for me. >> i am heartbroken about it and i don't really know if i am going to remain a republican. i w

ali. >> you have yourself a great day. velshi starts now. >>> good morning, to sunday october 27th. it is nine days until election day, the last full week of the 2024 election season. is going to be a busy one as the candidates make their final pitches to voters across the country. the democratic nominee, kamala harris will brainstorm all seven swing states over the next two days beginning today in pennsylvania. she's going to start out the morning by attending service and delivering remarks at a church in west philadelphia. you are looking at that now. here is a live shot of it, as part of a souls to the polls effort where people go to church and go directly to vote and mobilizes people to cast their vote early. as of this morning, more than 30 million people have already voted in this year's elections. some places are continuing to see record turnout including new york city where more than 140,000 people cast their ballots on the first day of early, in-person voting, yesterday and where i shall cast my ballot today. harris includes a notable stop that will not be in a swing state.
