but for now from me, alicia mccarthy goodbye. hello.et to bring some wet and blustery and potentially some stormy weather across some parts of the uk. certainly an unsettled outlook, thanks to an area of low pressure. this is friday's weather chart. you can see the low drifting in from the west. bands of rain, these frontal systems, spiralling around the low. but with that low, we're going to develop a south—westerly flow across the uk, so at least for a time, it is going to feel milder. a milder start to the day on friday, but with that, we will have outbreaks of rain drifting into eastern england, starting to push northwards across scotland. then a slice of drier and potentially brighter weather before another band of rain pushes into northern ireland, wales and the south—west through the afternoon. it will be breezy, but not especially windy just yet. top temperatures of 9—16 degrees. now, during friday evening, the bands of rain will continue to drift north—eastwards. some dry interludes, but the winds will become an increasing feat

but for now from me, alicia mccarthy, goodbye. good afternoon.y parts of the country yesterday. today is generally a quiet day weather—wise, if you blustery showers around but some sunshine too. this is the picture in twickenham, we had torrential showers and now this beautiful light shining on these autumn colours. for the rest of today, lighter winds than yesterday. a bit of sunshine through the next few hours. blustery showers, especially in the far south—west of england. this weather front approaching, and in eastern scotland, showers rotating around this slow area moving pressure. it's been here a few days and isn't going anywhere in a hurry. not dry everywhere, sunshine in the midlands, northern ireland, and to the south—east of england. this patches of rain across scotland, breezy in the north, breezy to the south—west of england. we do have these showers too. temperatures reasonably mild, 11—15d. sunny skies. it will turn colder through the week. into the evening, showers in the south—west pushing northwards across england and wales. the

alicia mccarthy will be here at the same time tomorrow for a review of the final day before parliamentut from me, mandy baker, it's goodbye and i leave you with something which is likely to become very familiar in the months and years to come. order! order. thanks, everybody. hello there. it's been a pretty unsettled start to november. we've seen quite a bit of rainfall in places. however, over the next few days what we'll notice is a change in temperature. it's going to turn much cooler with those winds starting to come down from the north, right from the arctic. and there will also be further rain at times through the week. now, early on tuesday, we start off with quite a bit of cloud across england and wales, most of the showers across the north—east corner. turning dry with clear spells across western scotland and northern ireland, so will be quite chilly here. but further south and east, where we also have lighter winds, we will see temperatures around 7 or 8 degrees and there could be a few mist and fog patches around to start tuesday. our area of low pressure will be retreating

but for now from me, alicia mccarthy, goodbye. hello there. wins have already been picking up.ome of us will cause some disruption to travel and potentially some damages well. your bbc local radio station will keep you up—to—date. you can see this swirling area of cloud on our earlier satellite picture. this is an area of low pressure which has been deepening as it has been approaching the british isles and on the southern flank, see all of these isobars are squatting together, it shows us a swathe of very strong winds continuing to develop right now across parts of wales and the south—west of england. some very heavy rain to be had here as well. there are met office yellow warnings in force for the strength of the winds. strongest through the morning, gusts of 60—70 and maybe 80 mph on exposed post and is the day wears on, the strong winds will tra nsfer wears on, the strong winds will transfer further east across the south midlands, entered east anglia. those wins could be quite damaging. they will also be some heavy and persistent rain slowly pushing eastwards and northwards

but for now from me, alicia mccarthy, goodbye. don't be fooled by sunday's sunshine.ant any more. this is how thejet stream's looking this week. it's taking aim at the uk. it's on a more southerly track than it might be at this time of year, nestled within these dips, we find areas of low pressure bringing wet weather, and the uk is staying on the northern side of the jet stream, and that means in the cold air. a chilly week to come. so this is what we can expect this week from this weather pattern. i am afraid low pressure will be around with further rain at times, cold enough for some hill snow. it will often be windy, low pressure, temperatures below average and frost occasionally overnight. and this is how we're starting the day. a wintry start to the day across northern parts of scotland. we've seen wet weather throughout the night, the bulk of that clearing away. it has delivered some snow to relatively modest hills north of the central belt in scotland, so could be quite tricky over some of the higher roads first thing. the bulk of the wet weather just clearing

but for now from me, alicia mccarthy, goodbye. hello there. across some parts of the uk — a combination of gales and heavy rain, which could well cause some travel disruption. your bbc local radio station will always keep you up to date with things where you are. the culprit — an area of low pressure. you can see the clouds swirling here on the satellite picture, and as this area of low pressure has been approaching the british isles, it has been deepening. you can see on its southern flank particularly, a lot of white lines squeezing together, a lot of isobars. that shows a swathe of very strong winds which will continue to develop through the first parts of the day. some heavy rain pushing in as well to wales in the south—west. that's where we'll have the strongest winds through the first part of the morning. gusts of maybe 70—80 mph for exposed coasts. through the day, those swathes of strong winds will head further east through southern england, up into the south midlands and parts of east anglia as well. gusts of 50—60 miles an hour, poss
