for now, from me, alicia mccarthy, goodbye. hello there.changing over the week ahead. the weather is turning more unsettled, and it looks particularly wetter across england and wales. but for all areas, it will be turning cooler over the next few days. today there has been some very warm sunshine around, particularly across more southern and eastern parts of england. and we have seen temperatures getting up to around 21 degrees or so. but cooler air is pushing in from the north as the wind is changing to more of a northerly. and that cooler air comes in behind this band of cloud, which is still around this evening and overnight, drifting very slowly southwards and still producing some showery bursts of rain. clearer skies to the north of that away from the showers in northern scotland. we're going to find touch of frost on the grass across central and southern scotland, the far north of england and northern ireland. further south across england and wales, it will be much milder. we will still have that band of cloud. on that weather front t

but for now, from me, alicia mccarthy, goodbye. hello there. had temperatures into the low 20s in southern england. 23 degrees in dorset. but thursday is likely to be the warmest day of the week. mind you, we get off to a bit of a chilly start, 4—5 degrees, typically. maybe, again, a touch of frost in the scottish glens. and a bit more of this mist and low cloud affecting southern scotland, northern england, perhaps into the midlands as well. but it won't last long. it's going to be a dry and sunny day. the sunshine a little bit hazy at times for the northern half of the uk. but the winds on thursday will be even lighter. it'll feel warmer and temperatures may be a bit higher as well. it could reach 25 degrees, somewhere like hampshire into oxfordshire or berkshire. and widely 19 or 20 for england and wales. a little bit cooler around some of those north sea coasts. but even across western scotland temperatures may reach 20 or even 21 celsius. but away from scotland we've still got some high pollen levels on thursday. it's tree pollen, of cours

but for me, alicia mccarthy, goodbye. hello there. record and for much of the month it's been exceptionally dry. but things changed a bit on tuesday for many of us. you can see the way in which rain pushed its way northwards, certainly across england and wales, there were some showers for scotland and for northern ireland. now, that first area of rain is clearing away, you can see the frontal system sliding out into the near continent but there is another area of low pressure out to the west. more frontal systems coming our way, which means there is more rain in the forecast through the day ahead. this is our main rain band, it will be pushing its way north—eastwards, so initially moving across the south—west of england, into wales, the midlands, into the london area by about lunchtime, and then that rain will eventually get into northern england, northern ireland and southern scotland by the end of the day. northern scotland will hold onto something brighter, but with one or two showers. some brighter skies returning behind the rain

but for now, from me, alicia mccarthy, goodbye. hello.forthcoming week brings something completely different as we close out the month. significant spells of rain — it will generally speaking feel a wee bit cooler, too. but at least the pollen levels will be reduced from the sort of levels we've seen of late. eventually we will be looking towards the atlantic for our weather but in the short term it is coming at us from the near continent and across the channel. certainly as we start the new day on tuesday, there will already be cloud and ran across the southern counties of england and wales, relatively mild her underneath clearer skies across the north—east of scotland, maybe with a touch of frost with temperatures below zero. up to dry and bright to start with across the northern half of the british isles, showers developing across scotland and northern ireland and the north of england but further south, notice how dark some of those blues are. it will be quite a wet day and the temperature suffering as a consequence, eight, nine or ten
