alister pringle, thank you very much from the equality and human rights commission.ee it. an imposing painting of the last supper. it has hung in this parish church since the beginning of the last century. gifted by a localfamily, who brought it back from a visit to italy. never had it been supposed that the 12.5 foot artwork would be an original. but it had not always looked like this. two years ago, extensive renovation work was commissioned, and more of the picture was revealed. it had, over the centuries, got very dark. it was brown and sludgy, and didn't look at all inspiring. and then it was restored and we see what we have now. and it is a joy and a delight. the restoration was carried out by art historian ronald moore, in his studio on the welsh english border. he was inspired to delve further. 11,000 hours of research, in fact, in which he uncovered its history. examination under ultraviolet light revealed the inscribed name of titian, one of the 16th century's greatest masters, and he's convinced the artwork was created by painters from the titian workshop,
