last week, justice alito refused my request. to keep this letter, the original version was sent to me and senator whitehouse, by justice alito in which he makes an argument that theould that it was his wife's complications in her decision. it's hard t it's hard first to believe that this man whom we're asking to recuse himself from these supreme court cases has somehow stood in judgment of himself and decided nothing unethical and should not recuse he refused our come before the committee and refused our request to recuse himself from these cases. in doing so, he claimed he bears no responsibility for the flags flying over his home, instead, he placed the blame solely on his wife. he went on to downplay the: significance of the upsidedown american flag display claiming it was part of his neighbors and denied knowing about the connection between the appeal to heaven flag and the january 6th insurrection in the capitol. chief justice roberts likewise refused my request to take action and deterred to justice alito's decision. but j

but alito has repeatedly proven to be an extremist.supposed to be an impartial judge. the supreme court is a government building. it follows the u.s. flag code. alito's personal home violated that in a public display that others would obviously see. in the code section on respecting the flag, it mandates the flag should never be displayed up sod down with the union down, that's strictly forbidden. indeed the code states the flag may only be flown upside down as a signal of dire distress and instances of extreme danger to life. that is one of the government rules alito's home violated. there are many problems with this, but that is just one of the many very obvious, blunt violations. what he did through his home could not be done under the rules at the court where he works every day. but apparently his home, whoever put the flag up and left it up, decided being with january 6th criminals was more important. again this is one of very extreme actions but it should not be normalized. and some are condemning it. >> amual alito and clarence
