this is aljazeera america live in new york city, i'm del walters. we are tracking a developing story coming out of jordan this morning opinion three people, including two americans were shot and killed by a jordanian police officer, opening fire inside a training center near amman. that center is used to train security forces. al jazeera has more from amman. after a jordanian officer reportedly opened fire inside a training center in amman. a south african was also killed before the gunman took his own life. he was killed after the attack by jordanian security forces, although we have heard other reports suggesting that he shot himself and committed suicide following the attack. now these instructors, the foreign instructors are contracted by the jordanian public security department to train jordanian policemen, as well as other arab police forces in the region. jordan is known to have a strong army and police force, and is also a safe country, so this training center is also used as a hub for countries to train with u.s. funds. these trainers, the

. >>> this is aljazeera america live in new york city. there is big news on the jobs front. the latest numbers out of the government just hours ago showing unemployment now falling to a seven year low. october seeing a huge surge in hiring and wall street is reacting at this hour, the dow opening though lower. al jazeera's patricia sobga has the numbers. this was a surprise. >> it was a big surprise, and it was a big, big headline number. 271,000 jobed ad, that's nearly 100,000 more jobs than wall street was expecting. the unemployment rate down to 5%, down for the right reason, because the labor force participation rate measuring the number of people in work are actively looking for a job held steady. that rate went down for the right reasons. we had very strong job creation and in white collar jobs, really strong job creation in construction. mining was an area of weakness, but that is overshadowed by the goose news in this report, including average hourly wages. average hourly wages jumped 9 cents to $25.25 an hour. this is a very, very strong report across the board. >>

. >> this is aljazeera america live from new york city. the justice department says it will appeal. the decision coming after to federal appeals court ruled the president said executive action on immigration will remain on hold. that plan would have let millions of undocumented immigrants stay in the u.s., that decision now leaving them in legal limbo. mike viqueira is live in washington. this appears to be another supreme court showdown for the obama administration. >> you're absolutely right and an issue that cannot be more volatile in a presidential year where the issue has played predominantly on the republican side as the debates continue leading to the nomination process. it appears if the supreme court decides to take the case and you are correct when you report that the department of justice announced early this morning that they are in fact going to appeal to the supreme court, but it is up to the supreme court to decide whether or not they're going to hear the case. if they do, a decision likely to come down in the late spring for summer, coinciding with the heat of a pres

. >> jason johnson is our political contributor here at aljazeera america and joins us from washingtonrning. it used to be the battle cry was it's the economy, stupid, well the battle cry now of 2016 be it's the national security? >> probably only for the next week and a half. this is not to dim shush the tragedy of what happened in paris. certainly the images are horrifying and resonated with the american people, but it's not here. i have sincere doubts as to whether or not concerns about an attack that occurred overseas will resonate that long with american voters, as we head into the holiday season and primaries and caucuses into the spring, i don't think it's going to change things that much with the candidates. >> which party does this favor? republicans are known for being hawkish. will the democrats take a more hard line approach? >> i don't think you can take much more of a hard line approach than what hillary clinton has been doing. she is the former secretary of state. this is what makes this complicated and why i don't know that it's going to resonate much. on the one hand,
