jonathen allen and amie parnes have it all. i don't know how many of you knows this but "hrc: state secrets and the rebirth of hillary clinton" hit the best-seller list, number 6 spot for nonfiction. [applause] >> big hand for that. the book is absolutely terrific. just a few words on jonathen allen and then we will talk about amie parnes. many of you know bloomberg news hired john a couple weeks before the book came out. it was my fastest and perhaps my smartest tire ever. not many reporters you hired immediately went on the best-seller list. it was easy to fall in love with jonathen allen. he is warm and funny, i asked him why he decided to write a book about hillary. he told me his mother who is here somewhere, when he was growing up in the 70s won eight $0.59 pin. no one remember whose idea that was but it stood for women, pay, inequality, the fact the they were earning $0.59 of every dollar a man turned. that sold me on jonathen allen. his boss, greg gordon, wrote this part. in all fairness john has a slightly slow start.

allen? >> just in the last 15 minutes, we've seen the first firefighting helicopters swoop in to drop water on the fire, which, at this time is just a grass fire. as long as this wildfire keeps burning aby from the power plant, firefighters are going to try to let it burn itself out. this will every once a while spark up. let's take a look at the ground shots. this owner says it's a plant that is used as a back up when it's in use, however, it feeds electricy to the diablo valley. >> there is nothing that would be vulnerable toechl mroegs there is no underground tanks we know of. there is nothing unusual in this area. >> now there are fire tracks cut out through the property. to protect the plan itself and pipeline that feeds the power plant. so far we have seen the fire jump over the railroad tracks which is where the fire breaks but pipelines, we're told are not in jeopardy at this time. this plant is off line. it's burning well. a lot of grass and tule. a lot of times it can move underwat

allen schauffler is in arlington, washington, not far from oso what can you tell us allen? >> that huge landslide hit a couple of dais ago, joie. we can tell you they had to pull a couple of the search and rescue out of the that slide zone. they're worried about further slides coming down so that a portion at least of the search and rescue eferl rescue effort e pulled down. they had se sonar, dog teams one scene, as well, and we understand about 100 people on foot looking through the debris from 30 or so homes that were wiped out by that slide. we now understand about 15 million cubic yards of earth that came thundering out of the cascade foothills wiped out a neighborhood and search and rescue officials admit they do not have an exact number of how many people are missing. they are chasing down 108 separate reports of missing people. they say a lot of those may be overlaps, publicly they are saying this is still a rescue operation and with every passing hour those miracles seem more and more likely. joie. >> allen i was in this area miefl. this imyself. this has had landsl

allen, a couple of questions. first of all, do you have an opinion on whether or not that is wreckage from the plane or is that just impossible to tell from the satellite images? what do you make of this palette that was seen by one of the search planes yesterday? >> well, they're all promising. obviously, there's a lot of debris out there. we need a lot more resources than eight airplanes and 20 ships. i think we need 48 airplanes and quick. i just hope that president obama is getting the right kind of information. we have a fleet of p-3 alliance, older than the p 8s. they need to be out there looking. the u.s. air force has nc-130s that have aerial refueling. they can stay on station a lot longer than the p-3s. that sort of equipment needs to be moved into the area to help identify what is on the surface. >> allen, as you may know, the sailors call this stretch of the indian ocean the roaring 40s both for the latitude on the globe and also for very rough seas and high winds. what do you think of the chances give
