kpix 5's allen martin joins us with the very latest results from the indiana primary. allen. >> reporter: liz, right now, too, early to project a winner on the democratic side of the race. bernie sanders, though, is performing better than expected. hillary clinton and sanders tied 50/50! now, 83 delegates are up for grabs. clinton did not invest much time or money in that state. and even if bernie sanders wins indiana, he will still trail clinton in the delegates needed for the nomination. but it does give him momentum should he win to continue his fight. now, cbs news projects donald trump winning the republican primary in indiana. the early polls showed him having a 15-point lead over his rival ted cruz. at last check, it was better than that. he has 54% of the vote a nearly 20-point lead over cruz. john kasich notched 8%. 57 delegates at stake on the republican side. not enough for the front-runner to clinch the nomination. but it does put him closer and closer. back to hillary clinton, she is going to be back here in the bay area friday for a fundraiser. >> thank yo

allen martin with a look at the recent cases. allen. >> reporter: ken, this is the third such incident rocking san francisco police department since december. put there's certainly others. on march 21, 2014, four officers opened fire on 27-year- old alex nieto in bernal heights park after he allegedly pointed a stun gun at them. the officers say they thought it was pay pistol. his death sparked protests. february 26 of 2015, 21-year- old lopez was gunned down in the mission district. officers say they shot him in self-defense. the coroner found that he was shot several times in the back. then on december 2, 2015, cell phone video shows a moment when police fired as many as 15 rounds at 26-year-old mario woods on a bayview district sidewalk. he had refused to drop a knife and had just stabbed a man. then most recently april 7, surveillance video shows police arriving on scene in the mission district after receiving a complaint about a homeless man. second later just out of view of the camera, they shoot and killed 45-year-old luis

. >> i'm allen martin. >>> three people arrested over the weekend in a bizarre murder mystery faced a the death of a father of two. >> reporter: cameras were not allowed in the courtroom this afternoon at the hall of justice in redwood city. we did manage to snap a few shots of family members of one of the suspects, tiffany lee walking out. you can see they were all dressed in black there. refused to talk to any reporters. investigators believe the trio is behind the death of 27-year- old keith green. his ex-girlfriend, tiffany lee, seen there, with him in the photo, is also the mother of his two children. green went missing in millbrae on april 28. his body eventually found near a dirt road off highway 101 in sonoma county, more than a week later on may 11. here's what lee's attorney told us after the arraignment. >> at this point, our

. >> i'm allen martin. >>> we are going to begin with that breaking news from the east bay.per 5 live over a brush fire in vallejo. firefighters have been working to put out the hot spots. smoke was seen for miles from this thing. two right lanes of i-80 east are blocked near highway 29. the brush fire is burning close to the i-80 east shoulder near the carquinez bridge. vallejo firefighters tell us no homes are currently threatened. you can see the smoke right there. there was backup though. traffic is moving through the area. we'll keep you updated throughout the evening. >>> a pregnant mother shot to death on a bay area freeway. police believe it was no random shooting. it happened just before 11 a.m. on highway 4 in pittsburg. one other person was hurt. kpix 5's jackie ward with the desperate plea from the victim's family members. >> reporter: we caught up with the family of the woman who died in the shooting and they are distraught, of course. they are also begging people to put the guns down. >> somebody seen something, please. we are begging

. >> i'm allen martin. they showed up hours at a time and the line stretched for blocks.nders rally in oakland has drawn thousands of supporters including a pair of protestors. juliette goodrich at the rally. >> reporter: we are here at the chavez plaza and bernie sanders is talking to supporters and sanders is pulling out all of the stops through the bay and specifically oakland. hundreds of people in long lines to hear him. as you said there was a brief incident during sanders' stage. a protester was disrupting his speech and secret service agents talked and animal rights activists started to take credit for this one protester but that woman was quickly detained and overall the bernie sanders crowd started to boo her.
