this is a live view from allentown. that snow will probably top 2 inches in allentown. i've got one 2-inch report that came in about 2:45 this morning. that's enough to make for some slippery surfaces this morning. all of this is sticking in allentown and reading. it's light snow and you can see some light snow flakes in chester, delaware, montgomery and bucks county and maybe a few more snow flakes in philadelphia before this one comes to an end and i expect it to end shortly after sunrise which is about 7:15 this morning. that light snowfall, most of it is going to be melting during the day. we'll see some sunshine and the temperatures rb warming up. light snow and certainly cold enough for it to stick to make it slick for driving and walking. there are some neighborhoods in new jersey that are in the middle 30s. but others that are still cold enough for some slick spots this morning and we will see the temperatures climb in the lehigh valley. the snow will disappear by 11:00, 32 degrees and we've got some sunshine that's warm enough to melt the snow even in the lehig

, factoring in the winds, this is what you need to prepare yourself for, feels like one below in allentowno below in reading, 17 below in the poconos. seven in millville. and about three degrees in trenton. so the way you attack this cold you bundle up in layers, three, four, five layers you can't have enough layers in cold like this, make sure you covering the extremists. make sure you have a hat on, ware the gloves. maybe cover your face with a scarf. biting cold this afternoon, windchills 20 degrees is the projected high but again i think a lot of us are staying in that 17 to 19 degree range. and looking ahead here the windchills get worse as the sun begins to set about 5:00. that will be a windchill around the 8:00 hour in midnight in time to ring in the new year, philadelphia looking at a windchill of minus one but those numbers are much, much worse, across the out lying suburbs. when i come back in a few minutes, i'll walking through, i'll go hour by hour as we ring in the new year, let you know what you can expect for the mummers and talk about a colder shot that arrives next weeken
