allison: the path forward is credit.ough a bit of a tough time right now, but with higher interest rates, there is a ton of investor demand for private credit, which is something that apollo specializes in. sonali: a couple of days ago, you had written a profile of who took over apollo and had been known to be changing apollo's image from a feared asset manager to your friendly neighborhood asset manager. how much is that working for them and is it true? allison: based on the stock performance, i would say it is working pretty well. the stock is trading at a record high because the company has tilted more toward the insurance arm. sells annuities to mom-and-pop investors or retirees, takes the cash, then invest it in private credit securities. this is really his baby, his genius, his core strategy he has had the firm pursuing for over a decade, but especially the last two years since he has taken over. the stock market seems to like it. jon: does some of what allison is talking about a line with what you have been hearin

let's take a closer look at the storm with cnn meteorologist allison chinchar.gest concern. >> absolutely, and the most widespread, too. this is what's going to impact the largest amount of people. right now you're starting to see a lot of the moisture begin to not only spread into southern california, but parts of nevada, areas of arizona, utah. it will continue to spread north as we go through the day. you have a moderate risk for excessive rainfall for places like las vegas, san diego and los angeles. the targeted area is this area. that includes palm desert, palm springs and even death valley national park. this is an image of death valley last summer when they had severe flooding that trapped all these caused. this was caused by less than 1.5 inches of rain. the forecast calls for 2-4 inches of rain. this is a year's worth of rain in just 24 hours' time. it's not the only area. there will be other spots across portions of california and the surrounding states that are likely going to get record rainfall out of this. that's why you have the record flood watc

joined by cnn meteorologist allison chinchar.ds, right? >> absolutely. yes. really it's going to be more widespread. you will have a larger population that really sees the impacts from the rain. now, we take a look where the rain is now. it's surging back in not only to california, but also nevada, areas of arizona, even utah and eventually spread into the pacific northwest states as well. the overall threat is very widespread. places like las vegas, san diego under a moderate risk short-range excessive rainfall. las vegas, that and bishop. california, set record rainfall amounts from record. more records likely to come in the next 24 to 48 hours. this pink area is a high risk for excessive rainfall. the highest category, including death valley national park, palm springs and palm desert. to put this in perspective, this is a photo from last summer, death valley national park, all these cars trapped after a severe flooding event and they had mudflows afterwards. this was caused by less than an inch and a half of rain. okay? and t

cnn meteorologist allison chinchar is tracking it all from the weather center.ison, who should be watching this closely? >> we have got a couple of different areas. we have two separate storms. let's begin with tropical depression 10. sustained winds 35 miles per hour. it's really not moving all that much as it sits just off the yucatan peninsula. it's really not forecast to move all that much in the next 24 hours. you will notice 1:00 a.m. monday looks close to the spot it's already in right now. but once we get to monday morning, that's what we start to see to take off. it's going to move to extremely warm ocean temperatures in the gulf of mexico and that's going to allow the storm to intensify to at least a category 1 storm before crossing into florida and then up into the carolinas as we get through the middle portion of the upcoming week. rainfall is likely the biggest concern with this storm, especially most widespread concern. you are talking areas from tallahassee to up to the outer banks widespread 4 to 6 inches of rain. but there will be spots that pic
