allyson. >> reporter: the charles county sheriff's department says the medical examiner has finished his awe top see, and they say he died from dehydration and hypo therm i can't, presumably after spending days in swing that is no longer behind me. police pound the three-year- old and his mother last month after someone who lives near the park reported seeing a woman standing and pushing a child in the swing for what seemed like an unusually long time. investigators believe simms came to wills memorial park around 11:15 on may 20th and didn't leave until police arrived two days later on the morning of may 22nd. by the time police found him, he was already dead. in an interview a few weeks ago simms' mother told wusa her daughter would never intentionally hurt the baby but she did suffer from mental illness. charges have not been filed against anyone. the state's attorney tells me they're still officially waiting to receive this autopsy but they do expect this to go before a grand jury sometimes next week. reporting live in la play that, allyson barber. >> the mom was taken to the hos
