the illustrated other almanac's. here we have the federal almanac for 1792. this maker seems to have less of an understanding of the principles of light and shadow. [laughter] but the face, the hair, the banner the cannons, the cartouchees and swags are all the same. and the citizens and farmers almanac, still less artistry. it is better than the cone head version. [laughter] in the colombian almanac of 1788. this swag has turned to metal and the cartouches look like jellybeans. but the canon and banners convey a touch of military swagger. for all of its failings, it could be called honorable compared to this last example. a pitifully crude recondition in boston primers and almanacs in the 1790's. but you will note that even here, there are some vestigial remains of the original. no doubt, it was hard to guess the identity of this unrecognizable portrait. those embellishments must have been deeply ingrained in the public consciousness. meanwhile, our friend john norman continued to reduce his -- produce his engravings, spreading his enthusiasm for washington.

open up the almanac temperatures doing better than normal this time of the year from san francisco, oakland to san jose, everybody got into the mid 60s. five to ten degrees better today than we were yesterday. so the warming trend is certainly with us as we head into the later part of the week. right now 53 in oakland and 55 currently in san francisco and 50 in napa and san jose, one of the warmer spots we have coming in at 56 degrees. satellite and radar will show you a quiet pattern over us. high pressure in control but you notice high clouds spilling in from the south. that's low clouds overnight tonight but high pressure wednesday again bring us sunshine on the way and little change over the next few days. we'll fast forward into the long range pattern, show you the wet weather we're talking about. a storm will develop in the gulf of alaska and sag to the south. by friday saturday, sunday, of next week it does look rather wet out there but still, the chance of rain some nine to ten days away but looks like the pattern is changing and bringing out storms into the bay area. that would be
