two separate crashes along 80. can see those lanes closed only one lane open at this time for drivers to make their way through that stretch. it's backed up for miles. it starts just past willow and continues to be very slow until you get to the carquinez bridge. you do not want to be stuck in this mess. it's about a 3 1/2-mile span between highway 4 and the carquinez bridge. and right now, it's taking at least 20 minutes just to get to that point. so definitely give yourself some extra time. if you are going to tahoe or sacramento, avoid 80. take 680, benicia bridge, looking just fine. cut back over on 780 or continue to 80. that's your best bet but give yourself some extra time regardless. it's going to be a very busy day out on the roads. today expected to be one of the busiest, the worst times to leave about 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. because you're dealing with commuters and holiday traffic. this is video of a problem on 880 near hegenberger. another truck caught fire and that caused all lanes to be closed along n

this is cell phone video of the fire along columbus avenue. there were 15-to-20 passengers aboard the bus and most were on the top level. when the driver first pulled over and opened the doors there was just smoke. but a few moments later there was a big fire. everyone did get off the bus and the fire department arrived quickly. the two people who went to the hospital are expected to be okay. ( darya ) one person is in the hospital for injuries suffered in a san francisco house fire. it happened on parker avenue near geary boulevard yesterday afternoon. two homes were involved and four people have been displaced. most recently, we've engaged with a consultant to begin data collection along the corridor. right now, we're collecting bidirectional volumes, there are three locations where we're getting a feel of the overall traffic volume. we're taking a look at the parking occupancy and turnover and collecting bike lane activity. that will be happening next week. with the data collection, we're hoping to get a better feel for the overall interaction and behaviors in the bike lane, whether it between commercial loading vehicles, tncs and bikes. we've conducted a customer survey that was conducted the first week of april. it is to help get a better feel for shopping patterns along the corridor and that has resulted in 200 responses. most recently, in mid march, a number of improvements were made between 15 and 19th street n. the photo, you can see the one that buffer that was installed. in that one-foot buffer, a number of delineators were installed. they encourage further separation between vehicles and bicycles and they were only installed in the areas where the bike lane was adjacent t

we are tracking a problem along 880. this is 80 at cummings skyway so this is -- we are starting to see the backup stretch beyond the cummings skyway on- ramp. this will cost you extra time eastbound opposite commute direction. there's a live look at 80 at highway 4 in hercules. and this is the westbound side where we are seeing the normal commute start to pick up. over at the bay bridge toll plaza, not a problem. we are in the green heading into san francisco. but here's the other problem. this is 880 right at hegenberger. we had a similar problem. this is involving another big rig and it caught fire. and that backup has stretched beyond marina at this point. they have reopened another lane so now only one lane remains closed. at one point all lanes were closed so we are still seeing delays but hopefully we'll see some improvement here as everyone is funneling over to that extra lane that's now open. hat's a check of your traffic; over to you. >>> good news is basically a lot of the heavy rain is all around us, not quit

this is along 880 the nimitz freeway. a full freeway closure was supposed to be in the northbound direction but that was canceled leaving a lane open northbound 880 between high and 23rd. but now we have a crash in that backup. so take a look at this. this is 880 right near the coliseum. traffic is coming to a stop. we are in the red tracking a travel time just under 40 minutes making your way between 238 and the macarthur maze. now, caltrans was scheduled to have all of those lanes reopened by 5 a.m. but now with this accident, blocking a couple of lanes, that's definitely going to keep your travel times in the red. if you can avoid 880, i would do it until we can recover from this. in the meantime that southbound direction as you can see just smooth sailing no problems along that stretch. but until you get past 23rd, you're going to be in these delays along 880 this morning. hat's san francisco with the circumstances surrounding this mystery. >>> reporter: we are standing in front of the power plant building where the w
