so at last check, i did see the altamont pass, which is north of the crowd. fire was at 44 gusting at 44 miles per around 10 o'clock hour. and then around 2 pm. that's right around when the fire broke out. so has been some strong winds that we are in between a very strong, a pressure gradient between high pressure, low pressure. so if you are or where you are in the bay area, it was pretty breezy. that's pretty much why you felt that way. and here's the future. wind gusts around midnight. 23 miles per hour expected over at livermore and east of livermore even higher. so still strong winds overnight. now around the 07:00am close to 08:00am. looks like the winds calm down just a bit with the exception of the coast will still be in the 20's. but i our concern, of course, is that the firefighters and, you know, dealing with the flames and all that dry brush out there that area a sunday afternoon and evening, we could see another pop in the winds as well, especially around santa rosa, close to 30 miles per hour and as well. so the higher peaks we normally see. let

this is actually a bit of good news around livermore, although up around the altamont pass where that grass fire is currently burning around 10 miles per hour. winds at the moment. winds do pick up later on today. now this is good news for us because it actually cools us off into the evening, offering some relief, maybe not good news if that fire is still burning around the altamont pass, though, the fact that the 2nd half of the day will start to get a bit breezier 60's to 70's for your daytime highs in the city today as well as along the coastline and then 80's to 90's for most of the rest of us. burlingame, 84 redwood city, 88 san jose. today you'll be at 92 degrees livermore as well as conquered in pittsburgh, getting close to the triple digits at 97 degrees. each oakland, you'll be right up to 80 well closer to triple digits. even then the rest of the bay in vacaville at 99 degrees today. tomorrow's temperatures wil still be warm but not as warm as today. low 90's at the warmest for your wednesday. by thursday, we return to averages and will stay that way in the 70's to 80's jame

so altamont right now is sustained at 30 miles an hour. we've got gusts will actually sustained at 31 miles an hour temperature 69 degrees at the altamont pass. humidity is pretty high right now. so this is helpful for fires. but one of the things we're seeing is the fuel moistures in these dry because you're not seeing oaks and trees. you're seeing dry brush right. so the fuel moistures are extremely low. so this is the kind of fire you expect this time of year. you're not going to see oak trees going up in pine trees. there's too much fuel moisture in those at this hour or at this time of the year. but in the grasses they're completely dried out. so keep an eye on it. but i got to tell you, they're going to have their hands full with this fire because it's essentially in the same area. it's foggy at the coast right now, but we're going into a heat advisory for tomorrow. we'll talk about that when i get back, but a heat advisory lasts a couple of days, and really, what i think the big story is going to be is that central valley, the extre

here's livermore, altamont pass in here in. the fire is out in this area as we come in a little closer, i want to point out the there's altamont at 36 miles an hour right now. the winds are gusting, but i want to see this orange area that's right where the fire is. that's the contour representing the strongest winds right now. and pretty much all day. so it's a funnel. so anytime you get a fire starting out there, even if it's not windy it's going to be windy. did current wind speed right now is we've got 18 miles an hour at corral hollow. i had winds up to 27 and 35 miles an hour earlier. so still blowing in this zone. we're expecting the winds to die down a little bit later tonight. but the winds will keep going. and then of course, we've got to get through some more wind tomorrow. it's still be breezy, but firefighters are getting a good handle on this one. a lot to do with dry brush. trees didn't burn in this one. it was all about the dry brush. trees are still pretty moist, high, higher fuel content or moisture content, bu

i just checked the altamont pass which is known to be gusty. >> it is gusting around 30 miles per hour at this 11:00pm hour and around the livermore by the valley, it's in the single digits. so here are the current wind speeds. winds have backed off, not as strong as yesterday. so that was really the challenge yesterday, especially with the lack of daylight in the evening. so today they had a lot during the day to make those water drops and contain the fire, make those lines. so current wind speeds you can see san jose 5 miles per hour, 8 miles per hour. but east of livermore notice that purple and red that indicates the 30 mile per hour range. so still gusty around the area. but it will be a much more favorable weather once again tomorrow because we do have the system to our north in the pacific northwest. now we're going to catch the tail end of this and what it's going to it's going bring us some cloudy skies and the strong onshore flow. so it will be another breezy day tomorrow, but the temperatures will be cooler. so tomorrow is really the last day for that because we could see mo
