aly raisman has been reporting through the morning that it could be another two weeks before this openso traffic. >> reporter: october 12 is the date that they are giving , the earliest date that they could open fremont at howard street. we are about a week into the closure of the intersection. it appears that drivers are getting the message. this is where you can see the traffic being diverted around fremont and howard. cars are going in either direction. getting around the closure. even though there is a little bit of congestion, the backup is not terrible. we are expecting it to be worse. the backup does not extend onto the fremont street off-ramp. this is why you have the road closure. it is because of the work going on to shore up the sales force transit center after the discovery of the two crafted beams last week. construction crews have set up a temporary support system with the yellow hydraulic jacks holding up the vertical columns in the center of that. the vertical posts are supporting the two cracked beams that run horizontally across the salesforce transit center. last tues
