alyssa harrington is live there with more on the story. >> reporter: walmart is closed but police areon scene. they are speaking with people here outside of the walmart as they continue the investigation. we know at least one person was hurt when around midnight, as the store was closing, witnesses say two men attempted to shoplift. they were at the counter when a loss prevention officer tried to stop them. one of the suspects started shooting in the store, a witness said. >> i was ]z the back, just shopping, being helped by a worker. we heard the gunshots and heard people screaming. started heading for the back and ended up in the back room. >> reporter: witnesses say the suspects and the security guard started wrestling. at least one person was hurt. it is unclear who that person was, if it was a suspect or somebody çóelse. police were able to take them into custody. and the investigation continues throughout the morning. alyssa harrington, abc 7 news. >> arson investigators are looking into a suspicious fire that destroyed hundreds, possibly thousands of bottles of wine last night.

alyssa, what are you seeing there? >> reporter: well, fans are celebrating in the streets.has forced police to close mission street between 20th and 24th to traffic. there are traffic control officers out there directing drivers away from the area. just about every person who has a chance to pass by, has been honking, waving rally flags out the windows. people are excited. but police are ready for whatever happens. they're concentrated here in the mission. civic center plaza where the viewing party was earlier, and also outside the bars at at&t park. i've seen some illegal fireworks, also fans dancing on top of moving cars, and people blocking traffic. police made sure that there's nothing to burn in the bon fires, but people are finding a way to do that anyway. certain muni lines are using buses, not the electric buses, in case rowdy fans jump on them. it's getting pretty wild out here. one other thing we did learn was that a fan was shot during a celebration in the mission. that victim was struck in the arm. and taken to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. rep

abc7 news reporter alyssa is live at the scene. >> reporter: it was pouring out here earlier. it was dry when this accident happened so police do not think rain was a factor. they do say it was foggy and dark. the victim lived in that white and yellow house on sloat boulevard. i just spoke with his family members them say he had just walked outside of the house and into the street to head off to the gym when he was hit and killed. police say a plan in his 70s was likely on his morning walk when he was hit by a car and killed. this happened on sloat boulevard at 43rd avenue about, a quarter mile from the san francisco zoo. the driver was heading west toward the ocean when police say the man tried walking across lanes of traffic. >> he left his house and he crossed the street. kind of mid block without preliminary, it looks like he didn't use the crosswalk. >> reporter: he was hit and killed. police were called before 7:00. the driver stopped. she is shaken up but cooperating with the investigation. the lieutenant said it appears she was driving the speed limit. >> we think the
