okay, alyssa. thank you. cal fire continues to gain ground on the massive dixie fire. it's now 57% contained up slightly from yesterday over the last 53 days, the dixie fire has burned 910,000 acres. in five different counties. it's destroyed almost 700 homes along with more than 1000 other buildings. three firefighters have been injured. we've also learned that over the weekend, a firefighter assigned to the dixie fire died. marcus pacheco was a 30 year. veteran fire officials say that he died from an illness last week that was not related to the fire. well if you were out and about this labor day holiday, you probably noticed wildfire smoke still lingering here in the bay area. want to give you now? live look outside, looking towards a very hazy looking san francisco skyline of the smoke along with a car exhaust and higher temperatures, creating poor air quality once again today, prompting air district officials to extend that spared the air alert now through tomorrow. and joining us now is tina landis of the bay area air quality management district. thanks so much f
