today in the bay's alyssa goard continues our coverage. blaring alarms on the half hour and huge plumes of black smoke seen for miles saturday as the fire burned at the martinez refining company. i come back and i have a big explosion in the black fire. black smoke. the fire was reported at mrc just before 2 p.m, immediately triggering a health advisory for martinez and pacheco. i can feel it in my lungs a little bit, so it's not good to breathe. a few hours later, the situation was upgraded to what contra costa county calls a level three alert, the highest level, and residents north of the refinery were told to shelter in place. six people are reported injured in this fire and four were hospitalized. on behalf of martinez refining company, we apologize for this incident. we know we disrupted many in the community tonight and we will be doing a thorough investigation on it. we don't want to hear we're sorry. we want answers. justin gomez says seeing the flames brought his young children to tears. gomez is part of a group of neighbors who'v
