. >> at least two people on board the planes have died third nbc bay area news's alyssa gord is at the site in watsonville. alyssa, what are you seeing out there right now? >> reporter: well, audrey, first of all, the airport is just behind us. behind the fence, right there. it's been a grim scene here tonight. just about an hour ago, there were a group of firefighters in their trucks, who piled over, right in front of the wreckage of this airplane here, and appeared to extricate out what appeared to be a body out of the area of the airplane. there were tons of firefighters and investigators who had been here this evening. the mood has been somber. as you can see, the wreckage of this airplane is still waiting here, in the dark at first responders worked into the night, investigating and recovering what appears to be a body from the wreckage of one of the planes. >> i heard a big crash. felt like a car crash. >> reporter: earlier in the afternoon, people in this watsonville neighborhood just outside the municipal airport said, they heard several loud booms. >> i was confused. i heard a
