alyssa harrington is live at east bay animal rescue and refuge in concord. alyssa, people can meet these dogs for the first time today. >> reporter: they can kristen. this is katai one of the dogs available for adoption. right next to him is flacco, he's also ready to find a home. east bay animal rescue and refuge is holding an open house from now until 2:00 where people can meet these dogs and they can drop off applications. now, so far about 20 people have applied, but they say that it's very important to find these dogs the right homes. so you still have a chance and they will review all of the paperwork before making a decision. now it's hard to believe that back in january, these puppies were found in the trash can. they were just five weeks old at the time. a couple walking their australian shepherd at pleasant hills park found the trio. their dog alerted them to a knotted-up plastic bag by the garbage can. inside, three terrier puppies who officials say would have died if they weren't discovered right in the nick of time. they were taken to east bay an
