alyssa harrington has more. >> family members and activists gather at thepot where the deadly police shooting happened almost one week ago. saturday, an oakland police officer shot 30-year-old in a standoff. he was initially found asleep in a car with a loaded gun and lots of ammo. i spoke with the female officer's attorney who said she saw hog reach for e pistol when he fired. thsuspect vehicle in a burglary the night before. immediately, their past starts to come out. they did this or that. they had a crinal record or whatever. it's irrelevant. the police did not know who was in t car. his record was not known until they i.d. alyssa harrington is why a little pink pill is so controversial. >> reporter: many advocates say it's breakthrough for women's health. it's known as the little pink pill or lady viagra. it's by sprout pharmaceuticals. its purpose is to stimulate sexual desire and to improve the sex lives of women with lowly libido. it would be used to treat female sexual dysfunction special cli desire disorder. hsdd affects 1 in 10 women. today an fda advisory committee is holding a hearing to discuss the pill its safety and effectiveness and if the drug should go on sale. if approved it would be the first drug of its kind on the market. advocates for female reproductive health trying to get it approved for years. they argue there's many drugs to treat sexual dysfunction in women and none for women. two other attempts to get it passed failed. some experts argue in recent studies there's not been a significant difference between women that took the pill and those who took a placebo. one thing to look at are side effects. these do include nausea and fatigue. live in the newsroom, abc 7 news. >> thank yo

alyssa harrington abc 7 news. >> thanks. >>> we are hearing from a south bay parent whose child spent time with a former camp counselor charged molestation. he was charged with molesting a ten-year-old boy when he worked as a counselor at walden west, a camp operated by county office of education. one parent who we call jane dough says her son attended in january. when he returned home he seemed scared. he shared disturbing details. >> did your son express other details what happened when he was alone with papa bear? >> i don't want to talk about that now. >> he has told you things? >> yes. >> and do they disturb you? >> very much so. >> she and her husband filed complaint with county office of education, are seeking counseling for their son. >>> police in daily facing charges of saltalamac weapon. they pulled over a chrysler 300, the driver hit the officer with the car, dragged him a short distance. a second officer opened fire, but the driver wasn't hit. the officer struck by the car is okay. the suspect's vehicle hasn't been recovered. >>> we expect the may jobs report shortly. >>

abc7 news reporter uh alyssa harrington plans to push the town forward. >> kevin hart knows he has a bit of a mess to clean up. his predecessor was ousted by the town's governing board and criticized for how he handled the scandal that stole a sergeant's gun. >> i think he made some mistakes. clearly he made a mistake in handling that matter. >> hart is looking at the controversy as an opportunity. he told me over the phone there is a lot of questions and concerns in town with previous leaders. this was a period in kensington's history that was very public and we have got to move past that. hart is a retired sheriff commander and serves on the dublin city council. there is still debate over his position. he will serve as the police chief and the interim city manager. >> some people feel there is a conflict of interest. i don't think there is a conflict of interest per say but i do say it presents difficulties. they are very different jobs. they are looking at other options down the road. his first order of business is to tackle the budget. abc7 news. >> amazingly nobody was hurt when
